Therapeutic Yoga for Anxiety

Your mind is often racing, you have trouble sleeping, you’re always worried. You know you should do some relaxation techniques, but it’s so hard to think of what to do when you’re already anxious.

Anxiety is exhausting, but learning therapeutic yoga techniques can really help!

In this two hour workshop you’ll learn how anxiety affects the body and mind and how therapeutic yoga can help you regulate your nervous system.

In the first hour you’ll experience a slow, accessible yoga practice designed to relax the tension in your body and calm your mind. This yoga practice is comfortable and accessible for all kinds of bodies, and no prior yoga experience is needed.

In the second hour you’ll learn tools you can use every day to help maintain a calm and regulated nervous system:

  • A short, comfortable yoga practice to reduce tension in your body

  • A simple breathing practice to focus and calm your mind

  • Ayurvedic wellness tips to keep your body and mind healthy and balanced

Anxiety can seem overwhelming and never-ending, but when you have the right tools, you can help yourself feel better. Join us to to learn and practice therapeutic yoga to help you maintain a calm and regulated nervous system.

About Zelinda

Zelinda is a yoga therapist and the founder of Round Rock Yoga. With 18 years of experience and over 1200 hours of training in the US and India, Zelinda teaches yoga that comfortably and effectively reduces pain for people with all kinds of bodies. Zelinda is skilled at connecting with students and making yoga relatable and accessible.

In addition to teaching at Round Rock Yoga, Zelinda has offered yoga for a wide range of populations, including K-12 special needs students, university student-athletes, corporate employees, outpatient cardiopulmonary rehabilitation patients, and at conferences, both in person and online. She also shares yoga with students around the world through her YouTube channel, Yoga with Zelinda.

  • This workshop is suitable for beginners. Prior knowledge of yoga isn’t required.

  • We always recommend checking with your doctor before starting any new exercise. In our teaching, we emphasize that every yoga pose should feel comfortable for your body. If any posture causes pain, please notify your teacher so they can recommend an appropriate modification.

  • Yes, you certainly can! Yoga will help you gently improve your flexibility, range of motion, and mobility. Please listen to your body, rest when needed, and go at your own pace.
