Ayurvedic Wellness
Ayurveda is a thousands of years old system of health and healing that originates in India. It teaches that prevention is better than a cure, and that we should do what we can to maintain our health now so we’ll be healthy and comfortable in our old age.
According to Ayurveda, a person is healthy if:
their mind is healthy
their digestion is healthy
their tissues are healthy
their waste products are healthy
their soul/spirit is healthy
their senses are healthy
By this definition, would you consider yourself to be healthy?
Many people deal with issues like anxiety, indigestion, skin irritation, pain, constipation, tiredness, headaches, and more, not realizing these are telltale signs of poor health. And since they don’t realize they're in poor health, they don’t recognize the need to do anything to improve their health.
According to Ayurveda, every person has their own unique characteristics, which is known as their “constitution.” For example, some people are always cold, some people hot. Some get by on very little sleep, while others need a lot of sleep. Some people have reliable, easy digestion, and others have a more finicky digestion. Some people have a radiant complexion, while others may have more skin irritation. Your personal characteristics depend upon your constitution, and the combination of your constitution and your lifestyle habits can have a big affect your health.
If you’re interested in learning more about your constitution and how your lifestyle habits are affecting your health, schedule a Needs Assessment using the calendar below.
