APRIL

April attended her first yoga class in 2004 in an effort to cope with a divorce, recurring anxiety and depression, and tight runner’s hips.  Through her Ashtanga practice, April successfully navigated her divorce, banished her anxiety and depression, and completed the Distance Challenge in 2006.

April holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science degree from Texas State University and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 200-hour level through the Yoga Alliance.  She has attended workshops with David Swenson and Sadie Nardini.

As a yoga teacher, April loves to encourage her students to try new things and to break down seemingly “impossible” poses into achievable shapes.  Students should expect her classes to be challenging physically and mentally with a longer, hopefully deeper, savasana at the end.

In April’s other career at the Texas Department of State Health Services, she is a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor (CPSTI) and coordinates a child safety seat distribution program for the state.

April lives in Round Rock with her two boys, AJ and Ryan. She enjoys photography, gardening, cooking, running, coffee, and wine.
