DIVYA

Divya's connection with yoga began early in her life in India. As a fifth-grader, she attended summer classes where her days started at 6 am with a blend of asanas (poses) and pranayama (breathing techniques), followed by a nutritious breakfast and engaging assignments on yoga sutras. Though she briefly revisited asana practice during high school, it was not until she moved to the US for her higher education that she reignited her practice.

After practicing on and off for about 12 years, the 2020 pandemic marked a significant shift for Divya. Immersed in a dedicated routine of asanas, pranayama, and meditation, she felt a profound calling to elevate her practice. This led her to complete a transformative Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in Austin, TX  which solidified her commitment to being a lifelong learner and her passion for sharing this knowledge with others.

Determined to expand her horizons, Divya pursued an immersive training in Traditional Hatha Yoga at a renowned gurukul in Mysore, India. This experience not only enriched her knowledge of asanas and pranayama but also deepened her understanding of yoga philosophy. She now holds 200-hour level Yoga Teacher Training certifications in both Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga.

Divya's teaching philosophy is anchored in the principles of "Yoga for All" and "Yoga Beyond Asanas". She is dedicated to meeting students where they are in their journey and guiding them to build strength, stability, and relaxation. Her classes are centered around the philosophy of yoga, guiding students to develop mindfulness and self-awareness.

Divya’s teaching journey has included leading community yoga classes across various settings, including studios, online platforms, and public spaces. As part of a Work Exchange program, she also had the opportunity of volunteering at a yoga studio in Sevilla, Spain. Additionally, she holds a certification in Ayurveda Nutrition & Diet Management from Kerala, India, complementing her holistic approach to wellness.

Divya is dedicated to immersing herself in and continually expanding her knowledge in the field of Yoga. Outside of yoga, she enjoys traveling, reading, dancing, and spending quality time with family and friends.
