NEW VIDEO: Gentle Yoga for Neck & Shoulder Pain

This week my mom came to visit. Over the past few years she's been building up tension in her neck and shoulders, and since she lives far away and they don't have a yoga studio in her town, I decided to record an instructional video for her. As I started planning the video, I realized that many more people than just my mom could benefit from a short yoga practice focused on the neck and shoulders, so viola! I put together a video for my mom and everyone else who deals with tightness and pain in their neck and shoulders.

I'm really happy with how this video turned out. It has a much more personal tone than instructional videos I've done in the past. I think it feels kind of like a private lesson.

Please check it out and share it with anyone you know who might benefit from it!

XO, Zelinda

Yoga for a Healthy Neck

I missed you last week! I've had so much going on lately that I didn't get around to sending out my weekly newsletter. Our dear teacher and my fantastic assistant, Jenifer, announced that she is moving out of state. We'll miss Jenifer deeply! I hope you can join us at her going-away potluck at The Yoga Room next Friday, April 19th, at 7:45 p.m. We'll provide drinks and tableware. Please feel welcome to bring your favorite dish. Tonight will be Jenifer's last classes at TYR. Share practice with her at her 6:15 p.m. Hatha I and/or her 7:30 p.m. Gentle class.

We've also been busy gearing up for our Finding Your Superpowers retreat! Angela, Kalena, and I, are excited to host this yoga immersion retreat over the next few days at Canyon of the Eagles. Our classes at TYR will go on as scheduled, with some of our other lovely teachers filling in for us. We look forward to returning to TYR on Monday!

One other exciting thing that's happened in the last week is that Huggies released a trailer for their Huggies Test Town (Round Rock) commercials. If you remember, Huggies filmed a mommy & baby yoga commercial at TYR last October. We can't wait to see our commercial on TV!

Now, getting to the point of this week's newsletter, a couple of weeks ago a sweet lady named Julie sent me an email and asked me to create a yoga video for neck pain. And here it is!

Neck pain can be attributable to imbalances in different parts of the body. This video addresses neck pain due to tightness in the torso and shoulders. It offers gentle and more advanced practices so you can pick and choose what feels most appropriate for you.

Please feel welcome to share this video with your friends or loved ones who deal with occasional or chronic neck pain. If you try out the video, please post a comment below and let me know how it goes. I'm also happy to answer questions, so feel free to post those, too!

Lots of love, Zelinda
