Fall Class Schedule

Great news! Our Fall Schedule is now available. And more great news! It's exactly the same as our Summer Schedule!

Well, there's one tiny exception. We've renamed Adria's Tuesday/Thursday 8:30 a.m. Gentle class as Moderate to better reflect the practice that she's been teaching. The Fall Schedule officially takes effect on August 7th.

If your summer's been hectic and you're ready to recommit to your yoga practice starting in the fall, we recommend scheduling your yoga classes right onto your calendar. To make it easy, we've created a public Google calendar of our Class Schedule. You can easily copy the classes from our calendar onto your personal Google calendar!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Have a great week!

New Class Schedule!

This week I'm excited to share with you, as promised, the new Class Schedule for Fall!

I know, it's a bit early, but with studio's upcoming changes that I announced last week, I want to make sure you have plenty of time to review the new schedule and the new classes and figure out which ones you want to try.

If you recall from last week, starting in September our classes will be organized into three categories, Body, Therapeutics, and Mind. Here is the breakdown of classes by category:

BODY

Gentle A class focused on improving strength, flexibility, and balance. The majority of class is Gentle asanas (yoga poses) coordinated with breathing, followed a short relaxation session. This class is recommended for beginners.

Hatha I A class focused on improving strength, flexibility, and balance. The majority of class is moderate asanas (yoga poses) coordinated with breathing, followed by a short relaxation session. This class is recommended for beginners seeking a stronger practice.

Hatha II A class focused on improving strength, flexibility, and balance. The majority of class is stronger asanas (yoga poses) including longer holds and occasional instruction in arm balancing and inversions. The class wraps up with a short relaxation session.

Flow A class focused on improving strength, flexibility, and balance. This class includes flowing asana (yoga pose) sequences that build internal heat and increase heart rate. The class wraps up with a short relaxation session.

Prenatal A class focused on promoting wellness for the mother-to-be. This class includes gentle pregnancy-appropriate asanas (yoga poses) to improve strength and flexibility throughout pregnancy. Breathing practices teach mothers-to-be how to focus and relax in preparation for labor, birth and motherhood. Relaxation practices help mothers-to-be optimize their wellness during pregnancy. This class is appropriate for beginners.

THERAPEUTICS

Therapeutics A gentle asana practice that is modified to meet the needs of the students in attendance. This class is designed for students (including beginners) who are recovering from an injury, are experiencing pain, or have other health concerns. Students will learn personalized modifications that will help them transition to Mind and Body classes if they are so inclined.

Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis This class is specially designed for people who are experiencing symptoms of neurological disease, including but not limited to Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Stroke, and Traumatic Brain Injury. This class is appropriate for people with mobility issues. We use gentle and restorative yoga poses to gently improve flexibility and strength, and relaxation practices to calm and soothe the nervous system. The poses are highly adaptable and can be performed sitting in a chair or on the floor, or standing, to meet the needs and preferences of each practitioner.

MIND

Mindfulness A class focused on creating a peaceful and balanced mind. It includes a combination of gentle asana (yoga poses), and one or more of the following: breathing, meditation, chanting, and relaxation.

Meditation A class focused on creating a peaceful and balanced mind. The first portion of class is gentle to moderate asana (yoga poses), and the second portion of class is guided or silent meditation.

Relaxation A class focused on counteracting the harmful effects of stress and creating relaxation in the mind and body. It includes gentle, supported yoga postures that are held for 5-10 minutes each.

And here is the Fall Class Schedule, which begins on Monday, September 6.
