Our New Home!

I sure have missed you! I've been so wrapped up in the transition from our old studio to our new one that I haven't sent out a weekly love note in more than a month (gasp!). I'm excited to announce that after a stressful few weeks that included rain delays, the construction superintendent quitting, and some other craziness, WE ARE FINALLY OPEN FOR CLASSES!!!

It's so wonderful to be in our new space. As you know, it's been a long time coming, over a year actually! I'd like to use this post to help get you acquainted with our new home.

Location First off, I should tell you where we're located. Pichi did an excellent job updating the Location page on our website. She included lots of helpful photos so you can easily find us.

Our building is the one made of red brick and tan stucco. We're located on the second floor. After you park, just walk into the center courtyard. You'll know you're in the right place if you see a giant palm tree in the center planter. The elevator and stairs are located in the corner near the directional sign that lists all the businesses (btw, our sign is not up yet - we're in Suite 220).

Lobby When you walk through our front door, you'll be in our lobby. Please tell the front desk staff person your name so she can check you in for your class. The front desk person can help you with any schedule, workshop, class pricing, or merchandise questions you may have, and she can also handle any reservations or purchases you wish to make.

You can drop off your shoes at the shoe shelf directly in front of the front door. Please take any other personal belongings with you into your class.

Our lobby is typically staffed during our busy class times: M - F 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. & 5:00 - 8:45 p.m. and weekends from 7:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Studios We have two studios now (yay!). During class you can store your personal items in the cubbies located at the back of each studio. Each studio features windows and pretty views with lots of trees, and is fully stocked with lots of yoga props. Our studio lights are on dimmers and we just had new thermostats installed to regulate the temperature in each studio independently.

For larger classes or events, we can open the double doors between the two studios to create one large studio space.

Restrooms/Changing Rooms Our new studio has two large wheelchair accessible restrooms that can be accessed from the lobby. They are plenty big to change your clothes in before or after your class.

We're still settling into our new home, and over the next few weeks you'll continue to see improvements and little touches to further personalize the space.

The new studio has been a labor of love. I had a couple of really wonderful advisors when I opened the original The Yoga Room on Round Rock Ave. They advised me to start small, make sure I can cover my expenses, then slowly grow when there are enough yoga students to support a bigger space.

I am so grateful for all the students and teachers who have make the new studio possible. I love that together we are growing the Round Rock yoga community - and at the same time we're growing our consciousness, our strength, our flexibility, and our capacity for love.

I so look forward to welcoming you at our new home. If you haven't already, please come by and visit sometime soon! We have lots of fun plans in store, including a Grand Opening/Holiday Party in early December.

As always, please feel welcome to post your questions and thoughts in the Comments section below. You can also communicate with me and all the teaching staff via phone (512-944-0426), email, and on our Facebook page.

XO, Zelinda
