Sound for Relaxation Series (Online!)
All of us at The Yoga Room hope you and your nearest and dearest are safe and healthy.
These days, we've all had our daily routines interrupted in one way or another. Either you're staying home to stay safe and dealing with challenges like cabin fever, working from home, and lack of human connection, or you're an essential worker who's having to adapt to all kinds of new pressures and safety precautions. (If you're an essential worker, we made this new yoga video just for you: Yoga for Essential Workers.)
Our Community
If you haven't already, please join us on The Yoga Roomies Facebook group. This is a friendly private group where all our community members can share thoughts and ideas. And during this time, it can be a great place to offer or ask for help. Do you need help finding a grocery item? Maybe another community member knows of a good resource. Do you crave social connection? The group is a great socially distant place to interact with others. We hope to see you there soon!
Sound for Relaxation
We're excited to announce a timely new series that starts next week. Angela will be offering her popular Sound for Relaxation, online! Over the next four Wednesday evenings, Angela will play her singing bowls, gongs, and chimes, to lull you into a peaceful and relaxed state. Added bonus: reducing your stress hormones will improve your health and immunity!
Sessions will meet via the online platform Zoom on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. CST, from April 8 - 29. In case you cannot attend at this time, we'll send out recordings of all four sessions.

We look forward to seeing you!
P.S. In case you missed it, we're offering a live, daily online yoga class while the studio is closed. See our Class Schedule and sign up here.
Breathing for Stress Management
How are you doing during this time of staying at home? Are you enjoying the solitude? Or are you feeling constrained and stressed? Have you noticed any particular triggers?
Today I ventured out to the grocery store and I realized grocery shopping is my new stress trigger, which seems really strange to me because I normally really enjoy my trips to HEB. But now, seeing the empty shelves reminds me that we're in tough times. And even if I know on a conscious level that we're not having a grocery supply issue, the empty shelves create a mild subconscious panic.
Regular yoga practice is a great self-care tool during times of stress. The physical yoga practice (asana) is one option, and dedicated breathing practice (pranayama) is an even more powerful stress-buster.
Next week we'll be offering an online series called Breathing for Stress Management, where I'll lead you through a variety of breathing techniques designed to calm your mind. We'll meet via the online platform Zoom, from Monday, March 30 - Friday, April 3, from 8:00 - 8:30 a.m. Recordings will be made available, in case you're not able to attend at this time.
We designed this series because we know calm is much needed in the world today, and as yoga teachers, we want to share our tools and be of service. We're pricing this workshop at a reduced price of $19 so that it will be accessible to as many people as possible, and at the same time to help us keep our small business IN business.
Much peace and calm to you during this time. We thank for your continued support of our studio.
Love,
P.S. In case you missed it, we're offering a live, daily online yoga class while the studio is closed. See our Class Schedule and sign up here.
