What Have You Learned About Yourself From Practicing Yoga?
As you get rooted in your yoga practice, you begin to learn a lot about yourself.
First you start to learn about your body. You learn about how your body feels: which areas of your body tend to be tight, which areas are strong, and which areas are weak.
With experience, you start figuring out which kinds of movements your body needs. And then one day, you suddenly catch yourself doing yoga poses off your yoga mat, in your real life.
Here's me, stretching out my abs, chest, shoulders, and back at a rest area in South Carolina. Road trips are hard on your body, and this felt so good. And more importantly, this little bit of stretching and breathing helped prepare my body (and mind) for few more hours behind the wheel.
This is what I appreciate so much about yoga - it helps keep our bodies and minds healthy so that we can continue enjoying the things we like to do.
